       Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn, Annual or biennial herbaceous plants of the Asteraceae family, Silymarin genus. The stem is erect and multi branched, with ribs; The leaves are large, lotus shaped and elliptical in shape, with hard spines and milky white stripes on the edges, short hairs at the end of the leaves, and long rough hairs on the veins; The flowers are large, nearly spherical, hard and spiny. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from July to August.
