       Maca (scientific name: Lepidium meyenii Walp.) (Spanish: Maca). It is a cruciferous plant native to the Andes mountains of South America. Oval leaves, rootstock shaped like a small round radish, edible, is a pure natural food, rich in nutrition, known as "South American ginseng". Maca's hypocotyl may be gold or yellowish, red, purple, blue, black, or green. Pale yellow roots are the most common and have the best shape and taste.
