    Taxus is a tree with a height of 30 meters and a diameter of 60-100 cm at breast height; its bark is grayish-brown, reddish-brown or dark-brown. Taxus chinensis is a Endemic Tree Species in China. It occurs in southern Gansu, southern Shaanxi, Sichuan, northeastern and southeastern Yunnan, western Guizhou and southeastern Guizhou, western Hubei, northeastern Hunan, northern Guangxi and southern Anhui (Huangshan), and is often found in high mountains above 1000-1200 meters above sea level.

    Taxus chinensis's medicinal value mainly lies in its extract, secondary metabolic derivative, paclitaxel. Paclitaxel was first isolated from the bark of Taxus breviscapus. It is one of the best drugs for the treatment of metastatic ovarian cancer and breast cancer. It also has a significant effect on lung cancer and esophageal cancer, and has a significant inhibitory effect on nephritis and parvovirus inflammation.

    Taxus root, stem and leaf can be used as medicine to treat urinary dysfunction, relieve swelling and pain, and have therapeutic effects on diabetes mellitus, female irregular menstruation and increased blood volume.
