   Shikonin is the dry root of Arnebia euchroma or Arnebia mongolica. It mainly contains naphthoquinones, shikonin,shikonin, shikonin and shikonin. It has a long history of medicinal use in China. TCM is mainly used for the treatment of wet macular , purpura, hematuria, drenching and dysentery, heat constipation, burns, eczema, erysipelas, etc. Modern medical research has found that the chemical composition of Arnebia euchroma is complex, with a wide range of pharmacological effects, such as anti-tumor, antibacterial , antiviral, anti HIV, anti fertility, antipyretic, hemostatic, hypoglycemic and so on.

   Shikonin, a component of chinese herbal extract, inhibits chemokine receptor function and suppresses human immunodeficiency virus type 1. Shikoni is a kind of red coloring agent, mainly used in juice drinks, ice cream, popsicles, fruit wine, cheese and spices etc. It can also be used for cosmetics, detergents.
