 Polygonum multiflorum is native to China, now mostly distributed in southern Shaanxi, southern Gansu, East China and other areas, more than valley scrub, hillside forest, ditch stone gap, elevation of 200-3000 meters.

There are two kinds of Polygonum multiflorum: raw Polygonum multiflorum and prepared Polygonum multiflorum. It is bitter, sweet and smooth in taste. It has the effect of detoxifying, eliminating carbuncle, stopping malaria, moistening bowel and defecating. It can be used for scrofula, sore carbuncle, chronic malarial deficiency, rubella pruritus, intestinal dryness constipation, etc. The preparation of Radix aconitum is the processed product of Radix aconitum, which has the functions of tonifying liver and kidney, invigorating essence and blood, strengthening muscles and bones, resolving turbidity and lowering lipid.
