     Radix Scrophulariae,one of the traditional Chinese medicine. It is an herb of Scrophulariaceae, up to more than 1 meter. Several branch roots, spindle or carrot shaped, expanded, up to more than 3 cm thick. Grow in bamboo forests, streams, jungles, and tall grass at an altitude of 1700 meters or below. It tastes sweet, bitter, salty and slightly cold. It has the effects of clearing heat and cooling blood, nourishing yin and reducing fire, detoxifying and dispersing knot.
