      Vine tea, also known as "Teng Cha", "Tocha", "Rattan tea", "Duan Wu Cha", "Mao Yan Mei" or "Moyeam", is one of a rare plant, its botanical name is ampelopsis grossedentata. "Chinese Herbal Medicine Collection" wrote that the vine tea (Teng Cha ) has a glycol flavor, the nature is cool. It can alleviate fevers, dis-intoxicate, cure rheumatism, strengthen physique, diuresize, and many other functions.

     Vine Tea Extract is a gray to white powder derived from vine tea leaf. The vine tea contains rich flavones, amino acids, vitamins and essential trace element, in which the content of dihydromyricetin is especially high.

     DHM extracted from vine tea has been shown to have significant anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo, and it has been recommended as a potential therapeutic agent for inflammatory-related diseases. Other pharmacological properties that have been associated to vine tea and its major component DHM were reviewed by Kou & Chen (2012), who cite reports of anti-bacterial, anti-hypertension, and neuroprotective effects, regulation of plasma lipids and blood glucose, hepatoprotective function, and anti-tumor activity.
